BED BASS

Instruments in which the vibrating element is a string or strings are CHORDOPHONES

This was one of the first instrument ideas developed for the LFO. Originally intended as a bed harp, it was considered more useful in terms of register for it to become a bass instrument. Based on an old bed frame, the instrument has 24 strings covering two octaves and it underpins several of the pieces being performed.
